Director of Events
Victoria Anthony
Director of Events
Victoria graduated from DePaul University, in 2004, with a focus in Communications and Political Science.  It was there through her connection to Delta Zeta sorority and the resources of DePaul, that Victoria was able to expand on the day to day of planning and hosting successful events.  Her favorite projects were the 3 day recruitment for her sorority, “Glass Slipper Project,” and continuously working with the R.E.S.T. Shelter in the aid of 500 people. After graduating college, Victoria worked for the family business and then decided to open her own Event Planning Company From Rings to Wedding, Ltd., but shortly after she continued on to John Marshall Law School specializing in Intellectual Property Law (MSIP).  Following her studies at JMLS, Victoria began studying under Michael Gaffney and Timothy Curran at the Chicago School of Floral Design, learning the facets of the floral industry, concentrating on floral production for events. With her new found knowledge of the legal industry, her experience with her event planning company and her understanding of floral designs from the Chicago School of Floral Design, Victoria decided to expand her event company floral production and that is when Kensington Florals & Events, Inc. was born. Victoria is certified in Wedding Planning, [Green] Eco-Friendly Designs and Corporate Events.  Currently, she not only heads the events for Kensington, but teaches Event Planning at Triton College in partnership with The Wedding Planning Institute. Victoria’s extensive knowledge on various events, artistic and floral design creations, and ability to negotiate contracts with her clients makes her a great asset to Kensington Florals & Events.

Routinely, Victoria finds herself joining Executive Boards, becoming a member, volunteering and/or donating for Non-for-Profit charities and associations in the community. Her past and present associations are: Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, R.E.S.T. Shelter, Clara’s House Shelter, Glass Slipper Project, Rotary International, Skokie Chamber of Commerce, Greek American Rehabilitation Center, Pan Arcadian Federation of America, Tegean Society & Tegean Youth Society, A.H.E.P.A., Hellenic Professional Society of Illinois, Northshore Hospitals (Highland Park), A Just Harvest, No Kid Hungry, Stop Hunger Now, Pritzker Library, Brides Against Breast Cancer, Aid for Africa, American Heart Association and PAWS.

Although Victoria is immersed in the event/floral industries, she is always happiest when spending time with family and close friends, playing around with her pets, catching movies, reading or painting (when she can find the time).

Stella Katherine graduated from Purdue University, in 2005, where she majored in Psychology.  While there, she joined Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity where she was part of the Executive Board and took pride in her ability to plan events and socials for the members.  She volunteered at Lafayette Urban Ministries (LUM), and Lafayette Women’s Shelter.  Through Stella’s connection with her service fraternity she was able to acquire non-for-profit fundraising skills and organized successful clothing drives for the women’s shelter. As a result of her efforts, garments were given to other local shelters where more homeless residents could be accommodated.  Stella advanced her education by obtaining a Master of Education from DePaul University in 2009.  She was inducted into the Golden Key International Honours Society in recognition of her outstanding academic achievement at DePaul. After graduation, Stella attended the Chicago School of Floral Design where she learned she had a raw talent for designing and arranging flowers and non-floral materials. Her designs are highly sought after and her skills in gardening have even won Hub’s Restaurant the Beautification award four (4) years running!  Stella’s extensive knowledge in floral design, partnered with her ability to truly understand what an individual’s vision is makes her an asset to the team of Kensington Florals & Events.

Stella’s passion does not stop at floral design and continues on through her philanthropy work. She donates her time to children needing extra tutoring to either keep up or advance in class. Stella is the Vice President of Education with the TYS (Tegean Youth Society) and has taken part in several fundraisers to provide scholarships for those who need aid for their college educations.  Stella’s charities and associations [past and present] include; Lafayette Urban Ministries, Lafayette Women’s Shelter, Tegean Youth Society, Rotary International (Skokie), A Just Harvest, Skokie Chamber of Commerce, No Kid Hungry, Stop Hunger Now, Hellenic Professional Society, A.H.E.P.A., and the Pan Arcadian Federation of America.

Enthusiastic is the best word to describe Stella and the effort she puts into anything she does! When she is not creating in the studio, Stella is happiest catching up with family and friends, working out and truly enjoying what life has to offer!

Event Planner
Franklin J.
Event Planner
Franklin J has always had a sense of creativity and a little flare early on. As a child he would help his grandmother with corsages and other floral decorations at church gatherings and family functions, even making the floral arrangments for his cousin's wedding. As he grew older, he knew wanted to stay in touch with his creative side, but wanted to do something that would be considered pratical and keep his analytical way of thinking in check. He found his answer in fashion. In 2005 he graduated from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA. There he received 2 degrees, one in Fashion Design and Merchandising, and the other in Business Administration concentrated in Marketing. Immediately following graduation he started his career in retail. After many years of retail merchandising, Franklin J's thirst for creativity still lingered on. "Wedding and Event Planning has always been in the back of my mind, something that I figured I would eventually get to." After planning and executing many successful events for family and friends, Franklin J finally took a leap of faith. "I realized I wasn't getting any younger, so why not go after your dream? There's no time like the present". In 2014 Franklin J received his Certification in Wedding and Event Planning, and later that year joined the Kensington team. "They have treated me like member of their family, and I'm so excited to get to work with this amazingly talented team" Franklin J truly loves event planning, and when he's not brainstorming his next big idea, he's surrounded by family and friends, and out and about enjoying life for what its worth.

From a young age Catherine was always very creative. She was involved in several musical ventures ranging from piano to choir, participating in several choirs and numerous musicals while in high school and college. She attended Harper College to pursue a major in Music Education, but shortly realized that teaching was not for her. Still having a passion for music she accepted a job with Guitar Center. There she helped run the daily operations for 2 years till another location created a lessons studio. Catherine jumped at the chance to help run and organize this new facility. Here she was able to gain experience setting schedules and planning in house events for their students. During this time she realized how much she enjoyed planning these events and decided to head back to school at the College of Dupage to obtain a Meeting & Event Certificate along with an Administrative Assistant Degree.
While planning her own wedding Catherine learned of The Wedding Planning Institute by asking an array of questions to her florist, Victoria of Kensington Florals & Events. After Catherine demonstrated her love and talent for pulling an event together, everything from the style and design to guest experience and details, Victoria agreed to be her mentor. Catherine then enrolled in Lovegevitys CWEP (Certified Wedding & Event Planner) course and is obtaining her certificate.
In her free time Catherine enjoys traveling with her husband Chris and spending time with their two cats, Sonya and Oscar. Because she was an only child she has several friends who she considers more like family and visits with them often. She also enjoys spending as much time as possible with her own extended family and in-laws.

"Stephanie Lake, currently a junior at Eastern Illinois University studying Hospitality with a minor in Business. While there I joined the sorority Alpha Phi where I took on many executive positions. Through the sorority I found a passion for planning events. My favorite event was helping to plan a philanthropy "Red Dress Gala" and raise money for Woman's Hearth Health. Through these events I gained skills and knowledge that will help my future career. I love volunteering and helping others. A great organization that I participate in is Girls On The Run. I also donate my time at local animal shelters and food pantries. My passion for event planning does not stop with philanthropies, I hope to plan corporate events and weddings. In my free time I like to be active outside with friends and family. I also enjoy experiencing what Chicago has to offer."
